One month after the Deepwater Horizon exploded 50 miles south of the Louisiana shoreline, oil continues to gush out of the broken riser 5,000 feet deep in the Gulf of Mexico.
The rate of flow is still unknown, and today the federal government demanded that BP post all oil spill data online for public use after it became clear that the company was trying to obfuscate the true magnitude of the spill. The company today posted a live video feed of the spill, which crashed the House website after hundreds of thousands of people tried to watch.
